Kiddies Palace Nursery Curriclum
Fun & Creativity
At Kiddies Palace, our curriculum is based on the guidance recommended by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The EYFS covers the seven areas of learning and development which include:
1. Literacy
2. Express Arts and Design
3. Mathematics
4. Physical development
5. Communication and Language
6. Understanding the world
7. Personal, social and emotions development
Literacy
Children's learning and development is encouraged by exploring phonics and letter sounds. Learning how to read and write, and making it enjoyable for the children.
Express Arts and Design
Children's creativity must be extended by the provision of support for their curiosity, exploration and play.
They must be provided with opportunities to explore and share their thoughts, ideas and feelings. For example, through a variety of art, music, mathematics and design technology.
Mathematics
Children must be supported in developing their understanding of numeracy in a board range of contexts, in which they can explore, enjoy, learn and practice this.
They must be provided with opportunities to practice these skills and gain confidence and competence in their use.
Physical Development
The physical development of babies and young children must be encouraged through the provision of opportunities for them to be active and interactive. Improve their skills in coordination, control manipulation and movement.
They must be supported in using all their senses to learn about the world around them, and make connections between new information and what they know already.
They will be supported in developing their understanding of the importance of physical activity, and making healthy choices in relation to food.
Communication and Language
A child's learning and competence in communicating, speaking, listening, being read to, learning how to read and write must be supported.
They must be provided with opportunity and encouraged to use their skills in a range of situations. And for a range of purposes, while being supported in developing the confidence and disposition to do so.
Understanding the world
Children must be supported in developing the knowledge, skills and understanding that help them to make sense of the world.
Their learning will be supported through offering opportunities for them to use a range of tools safety, encounter creatures, people and plants. See objects in their natural environments and in real life situations, undertake practical "experiments" and work with a range of materials.
Personal, social & emotional development
Children must be provided with experiences and support, which will help them to develop a positive sense of themselves and others. As well as respect for others, social skills and a positive disposition to learn.
Providers must ensure support for children's emotional well-being, to help them know themselves and what they can do.
