Kiddies Palace Nursery
All our staff are highly qualified with several years of experience in childcare services. At Kiddies Palace Nursery our staff are employed for their suitability to work with children. Provide a warm and consistent care for the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of all the children in our care. All our staff have completed safeguarding children training, DBS checks, first aid trained and hold childcare qualifications.
We are happy to offer our experience, knowledge and understanding of children, to help and support any parent returning to work or seek extra childcare. Within our settings, there are many opportunities to learn through creative and outdoor play, toys, puzzles, books and games. With the aim of exploring and discovering.
We all at Kiddies Palace Nursery recognise and understand that every child is a unique child. Constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self assured. We are here to support children to achieve their potential through observation, assessments and planning for next steps.
Kiddies Palace Nursery Aims
The staff at Kiddies Palace Nursery are committed to providing a happy, safe and secure environment, to enable the children in our care to reach their full potential. We aim to provide a board and balanced curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This would be provided to all the children in our care, while focusing on their individual needs also.

Healthy & Safety
Policy
At Kiddies Palace Nursery , we aim to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our employees, and to provide such information, training and supervision as they need for this purpose.
We wish to develop and promote a strong health and safety culture within the nursery for the benefit of all staff, children and parents. We also accept our responsibility for the health and safety of other people who may be affected by our activities.
The allocation of duties for safety matters and the particular arrangements which we will make to implement the policy are set out within this policy and sufficient resources will be made available to honour our commitment.
The policy will be kept up to date, particularly as the business changes in nature and size, and will be revised annually, or as and when necessary. We therefore welcome any useful comments from members of staff, parents and visitors regarding this policy.
Healthy & Safety
Policy Aims

Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment throughout the nursery through the use of daily and annual risk assessments

Establish and maintain safe working procedures amongst staff and children
-
Make arrangements for ensuring safety and the absence of risks to health in connection with the use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances

Ensure the provision of sufficient information, instruction and supervision to enable all people working in or using the nursery, to avoid hazards and contribute positively to their own health and safety at work, and to ensure that they have access to health and safety training as and when provided

Maintain a safe place of work and safe entry and exit from it

Formulate effective procedures for use in case of fire and other emergencies and for evacuating the nursery premises
Follow the regulations of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other relevant legislation. We believe the risks in the nursery environment to be low but to maintain the maximum protection for children, staff and parents/carers we consider it necessary to:

Ensure to the highest level that entrances and exits from the building, including fire exits remain clear at all times

Regularly check the premises room by room for structural defects, worn fixtures and fittings or electrical equipment, and take the necessary remedial action

Ensure that all staff are aware of the fire procedures and regular fire drills are carried out

Ensure that all members of staff are aware of the procedures in case of accidents
-
Ensure that all members of staff take all reasonable action to control the spread of infectious diseases and that they wear protective gloves and clothes where appropriate

That all persons using the setting are aware that it is a no smoking environment

Prohibit any contractor working on the premises without prior discussion with the officer in charge to negate any risks to the staff or children

No inappropriate jewellery to be worn

Dress code is smart and practical with sensible shoes

All electrical sockets should be protected by safety plugs, and there should be no trailing wires

All cleaning materials/toilet cleaner to be placed out of the reach of children
-
Protective clothing should be worn when serving food
-
Prohibit certain foods e.g. peanuts are not allowed in the nursery

All staff should familiarise themselves with the first aid boxes
-
Children must be supervised at all times and not left unattended in any room
-
No student should be left unsupervised at any time
